Outdated music streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple, Amazon and Deezer rely on costly, centralized hosting to deliver their music. In contrast, Gala Music uses a modern technology, streaming music through a decentralized network of tens of thousands of computers owned and operated by fans. Each of these computers runs a small piece of software called a 'Jukebox node,' powering the entire music ecosystem. This innovative model results in significant cost savings, allowing Gala Music to reward fans for their participation.

What is a Jukebox Node?

Anyone can host a Jukebox on their computer and in return receive daily rewards. If you don't want to use your own computer, you can very easily rent an affordable virtual computer, called a VPS.

You can only purchase jukeboxes using $MUSIC tokens. There will only ever be 25,000 Jukeboxes and over 13,000 have already been snapped up. Prices increase by $100 for every 100 jukeboxes sold. Gala have NEVER reduced their prices on nodes sold in the past so the price today (currently $2,200 USD) is the cheapest you'll ever be able to buy direct from Gala Music. Later on the plan is that Jukeboxes will be able to be converted into NFT's and at that point you will be able to resell your Jukebox in the open market if you wanted to cash out. Due to the limited supply and the earning power Jukeboxes may become a valuable asset that could be worth a lot more over time as the earning power is realised.
